By understanding and defining the user scenario from assembly, to use, to charging, Nekuda was able to design the best experience for the shopper and store. We posed tens of questions such as “Can carts be assembled or disassembled on site?” and “How does the shopper identify in the smart cart system?” in order to truly step into the customer’s shoes and understand every problem that may arise. Combining ergonomic design and efficient technology was a challenge – the user needs to view the display easily, while being able to put groceries inside the cart without strain. With this challenge in mind, we developed cameras that visually cover the cart’s entire inner space and immediately recognize the products being inserted. Correct and intelligent placement of the cameras, and wiring along the cart was the top priority when it came to Flow’s technology. Today, Flow comes as a retrofit device that can be placed onto any existing shopping cart and can be found at large retail stores in Israel, Europe, and the United states.
