The Vulcan, by Elbit systems, is an advanced optic sensor, for video surveillance for homeland security applications.
Our challenge was to design and develop an advanced system, integrating four cameras in one shell. Beside the regular video camera, the system embeds an infrared camera and a thermal camera. With each camera possess a different spectrum, the system demands field of view alignment in order to achieve high-end image recognition.
The final outcome conceals a complex design of the calibration system, enabling an ‘on line’ calibration and fine tuning ability. Located in strategic observation posts, this is a highly functional, robust system.
